Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to get involved and contribute towards the future of our Library.  Whether you can spare just a few hours to help out or want a satisfying outlet for your free time, your help is wanted, needed and very much appreciated.

Friends of the Foundation

Foundation-sponsored events and activities would not be possible without the support of The Friends of the Library Foundation.  This is a group of volunteers that will be called upon, on an as need basis, to assist with the Foundation’s cultural and fundraising events. There are no regular meetings to attend and no special skills required. This is the ideal opportunity to help the Pound Ridge Library Foundation with no major commitment.

If you are interested in assisting us with our fundraising and cultural events, please contact Vivian Falco at

Serve on the Library Board

Community members who share a special passion and dedication to the welfare of the library have an opportunity to contribute their talents as members of the Foundation Board.  The Board is comprised of uncompensated volunteers joined by the common goal of raising private funds to supplement tax-raised monies to ensure the best Library possible for the Town of Pound Ridge.

Foundation Board Directos serve three-year terms and cannot serve more than three consecutive terms.  There is no limit on the number of Directors who may serve on the Board.

Be a Library Advocate

Libraries are essential centers for learning, innovation and opportunity. Another important way you can support your library  is by  becoming a Library Advocate.  Library Advocate help get the message out and others involved. Meanwhile, you can start by contacting your elected officials to tell them how important your library is to you.

If you have a special skill that you would like to offer  (i.e. advertising, printing, mailings, computer skills, financial experience, newsletter) please let us know. Help in all areas is greatly appreciated.
